This Privacy Policy explains how OakLynx, LLC (“OakLynx,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the OakLynx application and website at getoaklynx.com (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy and to our Terms of Service.

1. Information we collect

• Account information — your email address and, if you provide it, your name. Authentication is handled by our provider; passwords are managed by them, not stored by us in plain text.
• Your inputs — the details you give us to tailor ideas (such as your industry, skills, audience, and budget), and anything you type into Niles or into the app.
• Content you create— the ideas, plans, saved work, committed business, notes, and the running “coach memory” Niles keeps so it can remember your context between sessions.
• Usage and device data — basic analytics events (for example, which features you use), along with standard technical data like IP address, browser type, and timestamps.
• Notifications — if you opt in to reminders, the push-subscription token your browser provides.
• Payment information — when paid billing is active, payments are handled by a third-party payment processor. We receive limited details (such as your subscription status and the last four digits of a card); we do not store your full card number.

2. How we use information

• to provide, personalize, and operate the Service — including generating ideas and letting Niles remember your context;
• to sync your workspace across your devices when you’re signed in;
• to communicate with you (service, account, and — where permitted — product messages);
• to process payments and manage your membership;
• to secure the Service, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot;
• to understand usage and improve the Service;
• to comply with legal obligations.

3. AI processing

To generate ideas, analysis, and coaching, the inputs and content you provide are sent to our AI provider(s) to produce responses. To research demand, we also send relevant search queries to a web-search provider. We instruct these providers to process your data only to deliver the Service. Please avoid entering sensitive personal information you don’t want processed this way.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Service, under agreements that limit their use of it, including:

• Hosting — our application hosting provider;
• Database & authentication — our backend/database and login provider;
• AI — the AI provider(s) that power idea generation and Niles;
• Web search — the search provider used for live demand research;
• Email — our transactional email provider;
• Payments — our payment processor (when paid billing is active).

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition).

5. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and browser local storage for essential functions — keeping you signed in, remembering your preferences, and storing your workspace so it loads quickly. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and afterward only as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can delete your account to remove your workspace data (subject to limited retention where required).

7. Your choices and rights

You can review and update your inputs in the app, opt out of non-essential notifications, and request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information by emailing support@getoaklynx.com. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK or California), you may have additional rights; we will honor those that apply. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to, and not intended for, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Where we operate

The Service is operated from the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, you understand your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll take reasonable steps to notify you. The “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed.
